Since the late 1990s, Lolita Lempicka has been one of the first perfume houses to promote the use of natural ingredients in its formulas. Today, Lempicka Paris has chosen Intact’s Pulse® alcohol, a legume-based alcohol derived from sustainable production. This choice is part of the brand’s commitment to more sustainable and smarter perfumery. Founded in 2022, the start-up Intact has developed a patented technology that allows it to use plants previously unused in perfumery, grown according to a natural cycle of soil fertilization and regeneration. Naturally capable of fixing nitrogen from the air into the soil, the legumes used by Intact fertilize the land on which they grow and enrich it for subsequent crops. This eliminates the need for synthetic nitrogen fertilizers.
These crops help regenerate the soil and preserve biodiversity: not only that of the soil, which they revitalize, but also that of pollinators, for whom these honey plants, grown with respect for foraging insects, are a precious resource. Pulse® is also a second-generation alcohol, produced exclusively from non-food materials: it does not compete with any food production and does not require additional land, thus allowing nature to flourish. It is therefore part of a circular economy and eco-design approach. Finally, the technological process used at Intact’s industrial site in Baule (Loiret), which is water and energy efficient and runs exclusively on green energy, allows Pulse® to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 80%* compared to conventional neutral alcohols.
